St. George Welcomes 3 New Members to the Board of Directors

St George is excited to welcome 3 new members to the School Board of Directors, appointed by the Vestry of St George Episcopal Church.

The role of the St George School Board of Directors is to provide broad policy direction to the Head of School, oversight of the properties and funds of the school, and to establish safe policies and principles necessary for safe and efficient operations.

Frank Castellano is Vice President, Head of Distribution, Global Retail Markets – West for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, where he drives the sales execution strategy of the region’s $1.5 billion dollar market.  Frank and his wife Kate are the proud parents of St George Alumnus Will (currently a Freshman at TMI Episcopal), St George 6th grader Bri, and are active members of the St George Church.

Tammie Hall is Vice President and owner of SERVPRO of Northwest San Antonio.  She has three sons who attended St. George School, and chaired the silent auction for the Spring Fling twice while they were there.  Tammie is also a long-time member of St. George Church and has served in many areas at the church and diocesan level.
 
Erica Valladares is a Shareholder at Langley & Banack, Incorporated, a full-service law firm based in San Antonio, where she specializes in labor and employment and public law.  She has served on the board of the Lone Star Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, including as chairperson of the advocacy committee, and enjoys volunteering with the San Antonio Bar Association’s Elementary Reading Program during Law Week.  She, her husband Marlon, and daughters Maya and Elena have been proud members of the St. George community since 2015.

 

Open House

St. George Episcopal School invites you to attend an Open House on January 28th and 29th, 2020 from 10am – 11:30am showcasing PK4 – 1st grades. The event will begin with the Head of School, Rob Devlin, giving a brief presentation. Afterward, prospective parents will tour the campus and explore classrooms. The program will conclude with a short Q&A session.

Thanksgiving Order – 2019

Friends and family of SGES, PTO is excited to invite you to our annual Thanksgiving lunch! This year we will be hosting a picnic style lunch outdoors on the field (weather permitting). So bring your blankets and family and join us in the spirit of Thanksgiving!

Apple Spice Box Lunch and Catering will be providing delicious salad and sandwich options this year.

PTO happily sponsors all student and faculty lunches, however, you MUST place your order on DragonNet by Friday, Nov 15! We hope to see you all there!

Howdy Dance – 2019

Please join us for St. George’s Annual Howdy Dance! 

Come in western attire (optional) and enjoy a catered dinner, great DJ music, and dancing!  Bring the whole family to greet new and old friends as we start a new school year.

Where: On campus in the Lynd Gymnasium (check-in through the entrance with the double doors facing Castle Hills Lane)

When: Friday, September 6th from 5:30 to 7:30

PARKING DETAILS: A complimentary shuttle will run from 5:00-8:00 PM between the Castle Hills parking lot and Castle Hills Christian Church parking lot (less than a mile away on West Avenue between Antonian College Preparatory High School and Aggie Park).

St. George Summer Program

Camp registrations are processed online. Registration will open Friday, March 8th at 3:00 PM and will remain open until classes are filled. There will be a non-refundable $30 registration fee per student.

Tuition

Camp tuition is refundable for cancellations made before May 15. In the event that a camp does not make sufficient enrollment, SGES will work to place the camper into an acceptable alternative camp. If placement is not possible, a full refund will be issued. We are unable to prorate or discount tuition due to camper absence.

Extended Care/ Lunch Bunch

Morning care will be available from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM. Campers should be dropped off in the GYM each morning and will be taken to their camps at 9:00 AM. Lunch Bunch is offered each day from 12:00-1:00 PM. Campers need to bring their own lunch and drink unless provided by the camp. 

Camp Sessions

Morning camp sessions are from 9:00 AM- 12:00 PM. Afternoon sessions are from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Parents will drop campers off and pick them up at the GYM. Campers should be dropped off no earlier than 10 minutes prior to session start time. There will be a late fee of $1 per minute charged for students who are picked up more than 10 minutes past the end of their camp session. 

Security

St. George will provide standard campus security during the camp day. However, it is the parent’s responsibility to make sure each child arrives to their camp and is picked up from their camp every day (unless enrolled in morning care and/or lunch bunch).
