Jaclyn Monroe

Sr. Kindergarten Teacher

Appointed in 2016

My name is Jaclyn Monroe and this is my fourth year of teaching at St. George! I was born and raised in San Antonio, attended college at Texas A&M, and then started my teaching career in independent schools. My daughter, Grace, will be in Senior Kindergarten at St. George this year, and my son Jameson, is 3 years old and eager to be a little dragon! Last year I married a wonderful man named Jacob who took me as his wife, and my children as his Bonus kids. Our family loves dance parties, hanging out at the Pearl, going on nature hikes, cooking and eating together, and swimming!

I have wanted to be a Kindergarten teacher since I was five years old. In fact, I vividly recall lining up my stuffed animals to play school. Teaching is in my heart. I love the connections I can with my students, and the “aha” moments I witness. Plus, with Kindergarteners, you really never know what may come next; I like being on my toes!

St. George focuses on growing the academic and emotional intelligence of our students. We help shape children in to adults who can work with a team, resolve conflict, and be kind and respectful.”
