Strategic Plan 2025-2030

Rooted in Faith. Flourishing in Community. Inspiring Lifelong Learners.

At St. George Episcopal School, we believe in the transformative power of an education that nurtures the mind, heart, body, and spirit. Guided by our Episcopal identity and sustained by a deeply connected community, we are committed to preparing students for a life of meaning, purpose, and joy. This Strategic Plan articulates the vision and priorities that will guide our path forward—strengthening our foundation and inspiring our future.

History of St. George

St. George Episcopal School began in 1954 as the Pilgrim School, a small kindergarten program established to serve young families in San Antonio. In 1969, the school became St. George Episcopal School, and just a few years later in 1972, moved to its current Castle Hills campus. What started with just a few classrooms quickly grew to include an elementary program and eventually a thriving middle school, graduating its first 8th grade class in 1984.

Over the decades, St. George has continued to evolve - adding innovative programs, expanding facilities, and adapting to the needs of a changing world. From the construction of the Richards Family Learning Center and the ICE Cube Technology lab to the creation of flexible, collaborative learning spaces, our campus has become a place where tradition and innovation work hand in hand.

Through every chapter, one thing has remained constant: our dedication to cultivating wisdom, courage, faith and love in our students. Our mission remains the foundation for everything we do. As we look ahead with our new Strategic Plan, we honor the legacy of those who came before us while embracing the bold opportunities that will shape the next generation of Dragons.

The Strategic Planning Process

St. George partnered with Mission & Data for over a year to gather input, collaborate, and make decisions on this plan while utilizing all constituents of the school's community. A survey was sent to parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and board members to gather information on what they see as the future of St. George. At the same time, Mission & Data representatives met with student, parent, and faculty focus groups to gain better insight into the culture and heart of the school. A Strategic Planning Task Force, made up of various types of community constituents, analyzed all the data received from the survey and groups and identified 4 pillars with priorities under each pillar that are most relevant for the future of St. George. With further community constituent feedback over multiple draft iterations of the plan, a refined and finalized version was created and approved by the Board of Directors in September 2025.
